Abstract
Quantum computing is currently experiencing a significant wave of hype, often accompanied by high expectations that outpace the current technological reality. In Germany, for instance, the federal government has committed €3 billion to quantum technologies—not only to support academic research, but also to foster quantum expertise within industry. In this talk, I will present results from our (d-fine - a German consulting company) ongoing projects in quantum computing. These include advancements in quantum subspace expansion techniques for material simulations, quantum algorithms for modeling battery systems, and the development and hardware implementation of an FPGA-based decoder for a specific quantum error correction code.
