Abstract
Some recent theoretical and experimental works claim an enhanced sensitivity of non-Hermitian
sensors, compared to conventional Hermitian sensor. Some other works deny the enhancements when taking into account the noise. This is a topic of debate. Here, we investigate the non-Hermitian sensors from a perspective of weak value amplification. Since weak value amplification is suboptimal for estimation, non-Hermitian sensors may not outperform their Hermitian counterparts in most estimation schemes.
