Abstract
We propose a novel charging protocol of quantum batteries based on superposition of trajectories. Specifically, we consider that a qubit (the battery) can interact with multiple cavities or a single cavity at different positions, where the cavities act as chargers. Further, we introduce a quantum control to determine either the cavity to be used or the position of the battery when it enters the cavity. By preparing the control in a quantum superposition state, the battery can be charged by the cavities or interact with a single cavity with different entry positions simultaneously. The main result is that the protocols enable the battery to experience a boost in ergotropy. We also show that it is possible to achieve perfect charging, where the ergotropy equals the stored energy, for both protocols. This means it is possible to convert all the energy stored within the quantum battery into work. Furthermore, we implement these charging protocols on IBMQ and Ionq quantum processors.
