Abstract
Optomechanical Hamiltonians describe a plethora of different systems with radiation-pressure-like interactions. Its avatars can be found in microwave optomechanical circuits, superconducting circuits, and cavity optomechanics. They all share time dependent non-adiabatic boundary conditions. I will focus on the traditional set-up where mechanical and electromagnetic energies are exchanged and I will explore a particular configuration in which a perfect two-sided movable mirror is put inside a cavity. A classical Hamiltonian for this system is first derived and then quantised and I will explore different resonance conditions that lead to a photon hopping effect not due to tunnelling and a bilateral radiating process that we called the Janus effect.
