講演概要
Surface acoustic wave (SAW), a type of mechanical waves, propagates along the surface of elastic medium with wave vectors orthogonal to the normal direction to the surface and is confined near the surface with a depth of about one wavelength. Compared with the electromagnetic waves, SAW has about five orders of reduction in the propagation velocity. This means the wavelength of SAW is about five orders smaller than that of electromagnetic waves at the same frequency. These features make SAW have wide range of applications. In this seminar, I will report our recent theoretical study for the quantization of SAW in piezomagnetic materials (see, arXiv:2404.09423) and the interaction between SAW and solid-state quantum devices. I will also show you how to trap polar molecules with the electric force induced by the SAW on piezoelectric materials (see, Phys. Rev. Research 6, 023292 (2024).
