Abstract
In this presentation, I will begin by providing an overview of the background information and recent advances in non-Hermitian physics, specifically focusing on the parity-time (PT) symmetric optical systems. Notably, recent experimental findings have revealed that exceptional points can greatly amplify the sensitivity of non-Hermitian PT systems to external perturbations. Building upon this, I will show how the sensitivity of the non-Hermitian optical system can be both enhanced and finely tuned through the application of external coherent perturbations. Moreover, I will also demonstrate the intriguing possibility of suppressing the system's sensitivity rather than enhancing it.
