講演概要
Quantum low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes have attracted growing interest in quantum error correction. This talk is aimed at a broad audience and begins with a review of the basic ideas and history of classical and quantum LDPC codes: what LDPC codes are, how their sparse structure is used for error correction, and what additional constraints arise in the quantum setting. I will briefly touch on surface codes as an example of a geometric construction, while focusing on the development of quantum LDPC codes and the motivation for ultra-high-rate codes with low check weight.

In the second half, I will introduce the ideas behind our pair-partition (PP) construction of quantum LDPC codes built from circulant permutation matrices. I will explain how a simple pairing principle ensures that stabilizer checks commute and helps us search for codes with desirable properties. I will also describe the basic idea of certifying a lower bound on the minimum distance by ruling out low-weight nontrivial logical operators, and how cyclic symmetry makes this verification more manageable. The emphasis throughout is on the underlying ideas and the connection between code construction and computational verification.
