    The path to fault-tolerant quantum computing with neutral atoms

講演概要
Quantum computing is moving from the era of noisy demonstrations toward machines that can run error-corrected computation. Neutral atoms have become one of the leading platforms for this transition. Over the past five years the field has produced a string of fundamental advances in control, fidelity, and scale.

Two features set the platform apart. Simplified, highly parallel control makes it practical to run complex logical circuits, and the ability to physically transport atoms gives dynamical, non-local connectivity, which lets neutral atoms take advantage of modern high-rate error-correcting codes. Combined with rapid progress in practical error-correction theory, this has driven the resource cost of useful computation sharply down.

I will trace this trajectory, lay out the challenges that remain, and argue that the path to a fault-tolerant machine is now clearer than it has ever been. I will close with the vision behind Farfield and our approach to the bottleneck we believe most limits the arrival of practical quantum computation.
